Australian Wetland Alliance
The Australian Wetland Alliance is an umbrella group for non-government organisations and groups working with wetlands. The Alliance was formed during the Brisbane 1996 Ramsar Convention Conference of the Parties. The Alliance provides a network of communication and support for these groups, it links them into wetland activities at a national and international level.
WetlandCare Australia are the current host of the Alliance. Cassie Price of WetlandCare Australia is our nominated Secretariat.
The Alliance is guided by our Technical Reference Group including;

Christine Prietto - Australia's Ramsar CEPA Focal Point
Ken Conway - CEO Hunter Wetlands Centre and Chairman of NSW Ramsar Managers Network
Phil Straw, Ken Gosbell and Joan Dawes - Australasian Wader Bird Study Group
Joan Payne - Conservation Council Western Australia
Libby McIntyre - Independant member, currently working with Central West Catchment Management Authority

The Australian Wetland Alliance heightens the awareness of wetlands and the fantastic work going on to protect and restore them around Australia.
The Australian Wetland Alliance represents Australian NGOs at important wetland events, such as the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands Conference of the Parties.
