WetlandCare Australia's Wetland Discovery Program (For Australian Primary Schools)
Our Wetland Discovery Program is a a curriculum-linked environmental teaching package for primary schools. It’s an exciting, practical and hands-on program that is already proving to engage students in their local environment. The Wetland Discovery Program includes a kit for teachers and a journal for students with tailored lessons appropriate for each stage (1-3), that can relate directly to a wetland in their local environment.
We are encouraging schools to take up the challenge of innovative teaching involving the environment. Schools who would like to take their Wetland Discovery Program further than just the kit, with a trail, learning stations, nest boxes and more, are encouraged to get in touch with WetlandCare Australia so that they can assist in sourcing funding for those additional resources.

The Queensland Wetlands Program (QWP) in the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection, has recently completed a wetlands education toolkit as a teaching resource to complement the Science and Geography curriculums. The toolkit is aimed at the middle years of schooling and provides information on activities, field trips and learning opportunities relating to wetlands and water in the landscape.
