Hays Inlet Festival 2012
WetlandCare Australia is a proud Silver Partner of the 2012 Hays Inlet Festival, a festival ‘celebrating the people, places and environment of the Hays Inlet catchment and its waterways through a series of environmental, recreational and cultural activities.’
Hays Inlet, in Clontarf, is at the mouth of the Pine Rivers catchment in Queensland, just north of Brisbane. It is an internationally recognized Ramsar wetland, providing habitat as a nursery for fish and other marine species, as well as being a feeding and roosting site for migratory shorebirds.
The theme for the 2012 festival is ‘Food Chain of Hays Inlet’, highlighting connectivity within the catchment and promoting environmental, social and economic values.
The festival is on from 1st to 7th June, with a number of activities such as art exhibitions, boat cruises, tree planting, foreshore walks and wildlife talks happening during this week for you to participate in. Don’t miss the Family Fun Day on the 3rd June when you can come and experience the ‘ WetlandCare Australia Interpretive Walk’ as well as check out the live entertainment, activities, stalls and much more.
