Fact Sheets
Wetting and Drying Wetlands
Summary:
Before regulation of the River Murray the extensive floodplains that run along side the river would inundate with water during floods, and dry out during the summer. Native plants and animals are well adapted to these conditions because they evolved with the 'natural' wet/drying cycle of River Murray Wetlands.
