Welcome to the Starting in your Backyard Resource page. This page is dedicated to residents living nearby East Ballina North Creek Reserve Wetland, however the information may be relevant and useful for anyone living nearby a wetland. Following the workshops which were held in September 2009, resident identified thing that they would like to know more about. As a response to this, a series of information bulletins have been produced to address these identified needs. Take a look at some of the photos of the workshops click here.

Factsheet : What's in your wetland? How to tell the four different mangroves at the wetland apart, along with the different vegetation communities, everyday animals as well as migratory birds and threatened species to look out for.

The ultimate aim of the Starting in your Backyard project was to get local residents to connect with their wetland. A deeper connection to the environment is the aim of education for sustainability.
