Management Issues Of A Wetland

Fieldwork

As you walk around the wetland (remember to keep to the tracks and boardwalks!) observe and note the issues that affect the ecosystem. Identify where they occur in the wetland complex and suggest some solutions to address them. When developing solutions make some notes on how easy they may be to achieved, the cost and if the possible solutions may cause problems to other areas of the wetland.

You may like to read the Wetland Care Australia Information Bulletin for the wetland you are visiting, to help you identify the problems and solutions, but try and come up with your own as well. Discuss with the class back in the classroom.

1. Low number of birds using the wetland due to the low number of different habitats.
