WetlandCare Australia was recently given the privilege of producing several catchment fact sheets for the Department of Education and Training's "Murder Under the Microscope - Crisis on the Coast" program.
What is Murder under the Microscope?
Murder under the Microscope (MuM) is an interactive environmental investigation game for school students. It involves student detective groups investigating potential environmental 'victims', 'villains' and 'crime sites' via the latest technology. It will run for approximately 10 weeks in term 2, (April-July) 2009 for years 5 to 10 and is accessed through the website: www.microscope.edu.au
MuM supports the learning content for NSW Stage 3 Science and Technology, HSIE, Stages 4 and 5 Science and Geography syllabuses. Registration and support materials for the game are now available at the website.
Previous MuM projects have aroused great interest among Australian and overseas school students. During the 2007 and 2008 projects, there were over 11 million hits on the MuM website during a six-week period.
