The response of our organisation to the issues of 2002/2003 has resulted in this past year being one of constructive development, strongly positioning WCA as a professional, future oriented organisation with an unmatched track record in Australian wetland repair. This year, WCA undertook a comprehensive review of its operations.

Wetland Care Australia Fish Unlimited Project

The Fish Unlimited project has been underway in the northern rivers region for approximately 10 months. This project aims to protect and repair fish habitat, particularly our wetland 'fish nurseries'. The single biggest factor influencing the number of fish, prawns and crabs in our rivers and coastal zone is the number and quality of nursery habitats available to juveniles. Identifying, protecting and restoring fish habitat on private land is essential if we are to sustain the recreational and commercial fishing values of the Tweed, Brunswick and Richmond regions.
